DEARMOURING – THE BODY AS A GUIDE
"De-armouring is an embodied journey of emotional release, nervous system healing, and deep reconnection with your inner truth."
What is De-armouring?
Over time, this protective armour becomes stored in the body as chronic tension, numbness, or disconnection. It can show up as muscle tightness, physical pain without clear medical cause, emotional shutdown, difficulty feeling pleasure or presence, or a persistent sense of being overwhelmed, stuck, or unsafe in your own skin.
De-armouring is the process of gently meeting and releasing these stored tensions and blockages -through conscious touch, breath, presence, and deep listening. It is not a method of pushing through, but of softening into. Not a way to force change, but to allow what has been held for too long to surface, express, and dissolve in its own time.
Unlike talk therapy, de-armouring speaks the language of the body. We do not need to explain or analyse everything with the mind. The body already knows. It remembers what was not expressed. It holds the stories that were never told. And when met with safety, presence, and care, it begins to release.
For many, years of traditional therapy have offered insight but not transformation. You may have spent hours trying to understand your patterns, your pain, or your past - yet still feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed.
That's because the body holds what the mind alone cannot release.
Each time we suppress an emotion - sadness, rage, fear, even joy - it doesn't just disappear. It gets stored in the tissues, creating tightness, pain, disconnection, or emotional numbness. This process often begins in early childhood, when we were taught - directly or indirectly - that certain feelings were too much, too loud, or not welcome.
Over time, we adapt by shutting down. We learn to hold it all in. We become high-functioning, disconnected, or emotionally exhausted - carrying layer upon layer of unexpressed experience in the body.
De-armouring gives us a way back in.
It offers direct access to what lives beneath the surface - not through talking, but through touch, breath, sound, and deep presence. It allows the body to show us where it's holding on, and what it's ready to let go of.
This work is rooted in the belief that the body is not a problem to be fixed, but a wise guide. Armour was never the issue - it's the solution. De-armouring simply invites you to notice what no longer serves, and to support your system in returning to its natural state of flow, sensation, and connection.
It is a journey of coming home to yourself - gently, deeply, and with reverence for all that your body has carried.
How a Session Works
Every de-armouring session is different. There is no fixed method, no pre-planned technique - only presence, deep listening, and a willingness to follow what your body is ready to release.
We begin with a grounding conversation. You're invited to share what you're experiencing - physically, emotionally, energetically - and what you feel drawn to explore. This conversation helps us create a clear, safe container. Together, we agree on boundaries, intentions, and any areas of focus that may be present in you.
From there, we move into the body.
Sessions are performed on a mattress on the floor in a warm, quiet space. You remain in your underwear - for women, without a bra - as oil may be used on the belly and surrounding areas for deep tissue and energetic work. I am always fully dressed throughout the session, and all touch is offered with respect, clarity, and presence.
The bodywork may include conscious touch, deeper pressure on specific points, soft stretches, rocking or pulsing, intuitive movement, breathwork, and energy-based support. Nothing is imposed or forced. We listen to your system and respond moment by moment.
This work can be quiet, tender, emotional, or intense. It is common for sounds to arise - sighs, tears, or even deep roars. At times, I may join you in sound, meeting the expression with my own voice, helping you move through what words cannot hold. Sound is welcome here - as medicine, as release, as truth.
You may feel heat, vibration, trembling, stillness, spaciousness, or emotional waves. Sometimes images or memories surface. Other times, the experience is wordless and internal - a subtle yet powerful unfolding.
You are always in control. You can speak, pause, ask questions, or set limits at any point. There is no right or wrong way to respond. Everything is welcome, and everything is met with care.
This is not a tantra massage. There is no focus on arousal or sexual energy. This is deep somatic and emotional release work - grounded, trauma-informed, and anchored in the body's own wisdom.
Each session ends with space to land. Time to integrate, to rest, and to return gently to your body and breath. You may feel raw, soft, expanded, emptied, or quietly awake. Whatever arises is held, without judgment.
This is not a quick fix. It is a process of listening - and of remembering the deep intelligence your body already holds. Step by step, layer by layer, you are invited to come home.
Internal Dearmouring – When and How
Internal de-armouring is a specific and sensitive part of this work. It involves working with areas of the body that can be entered - such as the pelvic floor, vagina, anus, or throat - to release deep physical and emotional tension that may be stored in these regions.
Because these parts of the body often hold our most profound experiences - including shame, fear, trauma, repression, and ancestral or emotional memory - internal work requires a high level of trust, attunement, and readiness from both practitioner and client.
This is never something we begin with.
Internal de-armouring is only considered after 3–5 sessions, and only if we both assess that your system is ready, responsive, and open to receiving this level of work. Even then, it will only take place within a clearly defined and mutual agreement - grounded in ongoing consent, deep safety, and constant communication throughout the process.
And sometimes, the need for internal work never arises.
It is not the goal. There is nothing to chase or unlock. This work is never about "going deeper" for the sake of it - it's about meeting your body exactly where it is.
Nothing is ever done to you. We move with your body, your pace, your yes.
This is not about pushing through resistance or unlocking something dramatic. The nervous system must be settled. Your boundaries must be fully intact. And you must feel emotionally supported, anchored, and deeply in charge of the process.
Internal de-armouring, when entered with care and precision, can be a powerful way to meet the parts of yourself that were silenced, shut down, or disconnected - and begin to feel, reclaim, and soften into wholeness again.
But it is never the goal. It is simply one path, among many, that may arise in time - your healing is not defined by whether internal work happens. What matters is that you feel safe, met, and supported - every step of the way.
What De-armouring Can Support
De-armouring is not a treatment for symptoms - it is a space for the body to return to its own rhythm, truth, and vitality. That said, many people come to this work because something in them feels off, stuck, shut down, or overwhelmed. They sense that what they're experiencing lives deeper than words or thoughts. They want to feel again. They want to breathe fully. They want to come home.
De-armouring can support you if you are experiencing:
-
Chronic tension, pain, or energetic blockages in the body
-
Emotional numbness, shutdown, or disconnection from your felt sense
-
Anxiety, overstimulation, or an inability to rest deeply
-
Old grief, anger, or shame that hasn't had space to be expressed
-
A constant sense of holding yourself together or bracing for impact
-
Difficulty feeling pleasure, joy, or presence
-
A longing to feel safe in your body - maybe for the first time
-
Patterns of collapse, self-abandonment, or boundary confusion
-
The resurfacing of past traumas, memories, or emotional wounds
-
Restlessness, irritability, or emotional overwhelm without a clear cause
-
The deep knowing that talking alone isn't enough
This work meets you where you are - in the body, beneath the surface.
Whether you're navigating a life transition, healing from emotional or physical trauma, feeling disconnected from your body, or simply ready to access more of your truth - de-armouring offers a safe and powerful space to release, reconnect, and remember who you are beneath the tension.
This is not about fixing you.
It's about unravelling what you've carried - gently, layer by layer - so your system can soften, open, and return to flow.
Practical Information & What to Expect
Session length
De-armouring sessions are 2 hours ish, depending on your needs and what you feel ready to meet. Longer sessions offer more time for the body to soften, unfold, and integrate. This is not quick or superficial work — we move slowly and intentionally, creating space for depth without overwhelm.
Location
Sessions are performed on a mattress on the floor in a warm, calm, and held environment. Please arrive on time. I do not have a waiting area, and the space is prepared specifically for you and your session.
What to wear
You'll typically undress down to your underwear before the session begins. For women, no bra is preferred, as oil may be used on the belly and surrounding areas for deep tissue and energetic work. You will be covered with a blanket throughout the session, and I remain fully dressed at all times.
However, if you are carrying deep trauma or feel unsafe in any form of undress, you are welcome to remain fully clothed. We will work from where you are. If, over time, your sense of trust and comfort evolves, we can then shift toward working in underwear when and if it feels right for you - allowing the use of oil where needed.
Your safety and sovereignty come first, always.
Before your session
Try to give yourself some space before the session — both physically and emotionally. If possible, avoid stimulants like coffee, and choose light, nourishing meals rather than heavy or rich foods.
Allow yourself to begin softening even before you arrive. Give your body the message that it's safe to slow down. You don't need to prepare anything in particular — simply come as you are. If you feel drawn to bring a journal or water bottle, you're welcome to do so.
After your session
Even if the session feels quiet or subtle, your body will likely be processing deeply. Integration begins the moment the session ends — and continues in the hours and days that follow.
To support this, I recommend keeping things gentle and spacious after your session. Avoid flying, long travel, intense social situations, or big external demands (like parties or overstimulating events) if you can.
Give your system permission to rest. If you feel tired — sleep. If you feel emotional - let it move. If you feel raw or open — stay close to yourself.
You don't have to "do" anything. Simply allow.
Even though it might not feel like intense work on the surface, the body receives it deeply. The more you let it integrate in its own time, the more your system will open and reorganize from within.
You may notice shifts in your physical body, energy, sleep, or emotional state over the following days. This is natural. And if anything feels overwhelming or unclear, you're always welcome to reach out. I'm here to support your process.
Safety and boundaries
Your physical, emotional, and energetic boundaries are always honored. We move with your pace, your yes, and your no. You are invited to speak, pause, or change direction at any time.
This is a trauma-informed, non-sexual practice.
It is not a tantra massage.
There is no goal, no pressure, and no expectation. Only presence, honesty, and deep listening to the wisdom of your body.
